Community Development Facilitator in Lezha or Shkodra
Job Title: Community Development Facilitator
Contract Period: One year with 3 months’ probation period
Department: Migration and Anti-trafficking Programme
Location: Lezha or Shkodra


As part of Multi functional Community Center and Tdh project team, Local Community Development Facilitator, is in charge of interventions comprising community development processes, community based services, including children and youth empowerment and reintegration, aimed at improving the protection and rights of all children. The cross-cutting nature of such interventions will require a constant team work and alignment with principles, standards and approaches as outlined in the Tdh organization strategy and operation of Multi functional Community Centers, combined to up-dated best practices in the field of action.
The Local Community Development Facilitator is responsible to facilitate and implement all the activities related to prevention and reintegration services through community centers and mobile services for the project “Supporting families, children and youth exposed to migration”, financed by GIZ. She/he will engage in planning, organizing, implementing and reporting of the project activities under his/her responsibility.
  • Be active in the operating area through family visits, participating in community gatherings and interacting with key influential individuals in the community.
  • Develop and implement work plan in collaboration with Multi functional Community Center Coordinator.
  • Implement all district based plan activities in regular communication with the Multi functional Community Center Coordinator.
  • Facilitate psycho-social, informative, sensitization and awareness-raising activities for children, youth, families and communities exposed to migration, in collaboration with local staff.
  • Ensure the engagement of children and youth in a safe and appropriate ways through activities aiming their empowerment and integration in the community.
  • Support and facilitate community initiatives and engagement through building effective collaboration with key community stakeholders and creating and sustaining a participatory environment.
  • Ensure all activities under his/her responsibility are implemented on a timely and quality manner in accordance with Tdh and Multi functional Community Centers standards, and in full compliance with donor requirements.
  • Prepare documentation for all activities and services provided through community centers and mobile services, under the framework for implementation of multi functional community based services and project implementation.
  • Regularly update and provide data and information as per agreed reporting schedule and the format of reporting based on M&E system.
  • Prepare and keep track of activities as per operational plans and report on progress achieved to the direct supervisors.
  • Full time position, 40 hours / week
  • Tentative staring date: 30th of October 2017
  • University degree in Social Work is required
  • At least 2 years of working experience in community development
  • Strong knowledge in the field of community based services for children and family empowerment and reintegration processes.
  • Strong knowledge on child rights and child protection issues
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to work independently with little direction from others as necessary
  • Good communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Flexible world view and emotional maturity
  • English preferable
